Hate Speech By Pro-Palestinian Demonstrators in Toronto
(Calling for Genocide: "Death to Israel" and equating Nazism with Israel)
05/15/21: I am shocked to hear about reports are emerging tonight that pro-Israel and Jewish protestors were surrounded and assaulted by pro-Palestinian protestors at Toronto's City Hall.
"I strongly condemn the attack on pro-Israel and Jewish protestors, who are as entitled as anyone else to express themselves peacefully. Additionally, I have reviewed many of the images from the protest and am outraged by the hate and intolerance exhibited, calling for "Death to Israel" and equating Israel with Nazism. As Canadians, we all must uphold mutual respect, even when we are protesting".
According to reports, the pro-Israel and Jewish group was surrounded by the pro-Palestinian protestors. They started throwing plastic and glass bottles and rocks at the pro-Israel and Jewish group. At that point, the group felt it was no longer physically safe for them and asked police to escort them out of the City Hall complex.
"Allahu Akbar" - Videos of Street Brawls Are Emerging from Toronto
Video images are now emerging and being reviewed of at least two and possibly more violent street brawl between Palestinian and pro-Israel protestors. One Palestinian protestor is heard yelling "Allahu Akbar" as a rampaging mob with flags and sticks hunts for people to attack. "
"While information is yet unclear, I am calling on Toronto Police to advise the community regarding these safety concerns". Yesterday, a young Jewish man was told to leave a Uhaul business after he identified himself as "Israeli". Also emerging was a TikTok by two Laurier students who burned the Israeli flag and waved a knife as if to stab someone (a Jew presumably).
"These violent acts cannot be tolerated any further. I am calling on all levels of government, including Mayor John Tory and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to immediately condemn this violence and antisemitism".
