01/07/21: US Ambassador David Friedman congratulated President Al Burhan and Prime Minister Hamdok on the historical signing of the Abram Accords. Sudan became the third country after the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to join the historic accords. Morocco joined the accords most recently.
The agreement signed today opens diplomacy between Israel and Sudan and creates an opening for normalization. As part of the deal, the US removed Sudan from its terror list. "Even while much of the Sudanese interest in a peace accord was economic and security related, lets hope a peace agreement with Israel open a new era of co-existence", said Avi Benlolo.
